DIGICEL BVI SUBSCRIBER WINS ALL EXPENSES PAID CRUISE FOR TWO
Friday, 29 January 2010 – Road Town, Tortola: Curnal Fahie is a loyal Digicel subscriber in the British Virgin Islands. He is on the Unlimited Plan for $115 a month, which gives him unlimited calls to the USVI, Puerto Rico, USA, Canada and UK landlines, unlimited texts and BlackBerry email.
He is quite pleased with the service he gets from the Digicel staff, from the front office to the Sales and Corporate Customer Care Departments.
“My experience with Digicel has been phenomenal,” Mr. Fahie declared on Friday, minutes after drawing the grand prize in Digicel’s ongoing Christmas promotion. He was the lucky winner of an all expenses paid cruise for two compliments Digicel, The Bigger, Better Network.
Close to 30 Digicel subscribers, shortlisted from hundreds who qualified for the draw by topping up $20 or more, purchasing a Digicel phone, sending 5 texts to 340 3444 or paying their bills in full and on time, were invited to the Digicel Flagship Store on Friday afternoon to see whether they would actually win the cruise. In the end, everyone walked away winning either free credit or cell phones, but it was Mr. Fahie whose hand was first in the bag and that which came out with the lucky ticket marked Cruise for Two.
Asked about how he felt to be the winner, Mr. Fahie said: “I wanted to jump and shout and dance, but I’m a Pastor and I can’t act the fool, so I was trying to contain myself.”
Cruise Consultant Diane Lewis of Travel Rewards, who was on hand to present the gift certificate along with Digicel’s Acting Country Manager Gerry Ryan and Senior Marketing Executive Angela Burns, explained that the cruise package was so designed that the winner sails from Orlando, Florida on a Carnival Ship of his choice to destinations of his choice for 5 or 6 days.
The Digicel Christmas promotion was launched November 28th, 2009 on the occasion of the mobile phone company’s first anniversary in the BVI. The first winner in December was Dennis Haggerty, whose wife Shirley drove away in a brand new red Suzuki Swift. The promotion continues until February 26th, 2010, when another lucky Digicel subscriber will win a 50 inch Plasma TV.
