DIGICEL CONTRIBUTES TO CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN
December 17th 2009 - Annual Christmas Party for Special Needs Children gets Digicel SupportThursday, 17 December 2009 – Road Town, Tortola: Digicel joined forces with the Parents and Caregivers of Children with Special Needs to host the annual Christmas party over the weekend.
Over 40 children were showered with gifts during the fun-filled event, held on Sunday December 13th, 2009. The party was sponsored by Peter Island Resort and was scheduled to take place on that island. However, because of inclement weather conditions on that day, the venue was changed to Prospect Reef Resort.
Coordinator Einstein Samuels Lawrence said the management of Prospect Reef Resort kindly accommodated the party at very short notice and the group sincerely appreciated the gesture. “Mrs. Claus was on hand to present meaningful and appropriate gifts to each special needs child. Digicel also provided complimentary goodie bags for each child.”
Mrs. Samuels Lawrence said the children had a great afternoon as they participated in different games and a dance competition. She said she looks forward to coordinating this event every year because it means so much to the children and she enjoys seeing the joy it brings to them.
Digicel’s Senior Marketing Executive Angela Burns said Digicel was delighted to contribute to the hosting of the annual Christmas party for special needs children for the second consecutive year. “The kids all now have Digicel draw string bags and other promotional items that will certainly come in very handy in their day to day lives. We wish the children and their parents all the best for the holiday season and look forward to collaborating with them in the New Year.”
