Friday, 13 November 2009 – Road Town, Tortola: Digicel unveiled two special offers at the BUY BVI Trade Expo which opened this morning at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town.

Sales Director John Gidharry said patrons visiting the Digicel booth over the next two days can get FREE modems to connect to the Internet when they sign up for a one (1) year Unlimited  Data Plan for just $40 per month. In addition, patrons can also purchase the new BlackBerry Gemini 8520 smartphone for just $99, when they sign up for one (1) year.

Over 40 local businesses are displaying a range of retail and manufacturing services, including information technology, electronics, mobile phones, food and beverage, arts and craft, banking, building products, home décor and furniture and much more.

In declaring the expo opening this morning, Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Ralph T. O’Neal said he was pleased to see interest in the trade show grow from the first event in 1997 to the present. “These are small businesses which help to sustain our economy by providing jobs for our people, while helping to meet local consumer demands and we must support them,” he said.

Premier O’Neal commended the BVICCHA on the theme and the businesses for recognizing the importance of marketing their products and services even during these challenging economic times.
