DIGICEL SPONSORED ATHLETE QUALIFIES FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND LONDON OLYMPIC GAMES
MAY 16—Digicel sponsored Sprinter Tahesia Harrigan-Scott joined Chantel Malone as the British Virgin Islands’ second IAAF World Outdoor Championships qualifier on Sunday, then became the first to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games, when she placed second in the 100 meters in Belem, to kick off her Brazilian tour.
Harrigan-Scott—who will run in Uberlandia on Wednesday—had a time of 11.33 seconds in her 100m season opener, to finish behind Nigeria’s Osayemi Oludamola’s 11.31.
She is coming off placing fourth in pouring rain in Guadeloupe last weekend, when she ran 23.82 in the 200m.
