LUCKY DIGICEL CUSTOMER TO SHOP FREE FOR A YEAR
Monday, 1 November 2010 – Road Town, Tortola: Digicel, the BVI’s Bigger, Better Network, is at it again, as the company gears up to celebrate its third Christmas in the Virgin Islands.
The mobile telecommunications company today announced the launch of its 2010 Christmas promotion, which will see several lucky Digicel subscribers raking in over $20,000 in a Supermarket Sweep Competition at Riteway’s brand new flagship store in Pasea Estate, another first for the BVI.
One lucky winner will receive $12,000 in shopping at Riteway Supermarket, a BlackBerry Torch and $200 credit each month for 12 months, and the contents of their shopping basket. The 5 runners up each receive a BlackBerry Gemini and the contents of their shopping trolley.
Digicel BVI’s Commercial Director Gerry Ryan said Digicel is pleased to be partnering with Riteway Food Markets, the leading supermarket chain in the territory, and Canada-based BlackBerry manufacturers, Research in Motion (RIM), to introduce this fantastic promotion.
“Every one of our valued Digicel customers is eligible to enter this contest. All you have to do is buy any Digicel phone, top up by $15 or more, pay your bill in full and on time, register for E-Bill or activate any BlackBerry service,” Ryan explained. “Each week for six weeks, in conjunction with our media partners, we will select one winner who will qualify to have a go at running through the shopping aisles at the new Riteway and filling up as many trolleys as they can with groceries, which the winner gets to keep!”
Since its launch in the BVI in November 2008, Digicel has continuously come up with fabulous and meaningful ways to give back to its loyal customers.
“We at Digicel BVI are really very excited about this promotion and we know our customers will benefit in a big way as they continue to enjoy best value from the BVI’s Bigger, Better Network,” Ryan concluded.
Mr. Simon Potter, Managing Director of Roadtown Wholesale Trading Ltd., said RTW is very pleased to partner with Digicel BVI Ltd, to deliver this exciting fun-filled promotion. “We are elated to use our new state-of-the-art Riteway Pasea store for a promotion of this magnitude. All participants are welcome to come and have fun as they participate in this spectacular promotion where you can have fun and win some of life’s basic commodities.”
According to Mr. Potter, in these difficult economic times, any opportunity to assist the consumers of the BVI in creative ways is “essential to our business”. He said an opportunity such as the Digicel Supermarket Sweep promotion comes along once in a lifetime and everyone in the BVI is encouraged to take advantage of this great promotion.
The Digicel Supermarket Sweep Christmas promotion will run until December 10th, 2010. Everyone can follow the promotion in the local media, but in particular during The Morning Ride Show on ZROD 103.7FM, on JTV Channel 55 and by logging on to www.digicelbvi.com.
